It was just announced that the 44-year-old entertainer and her ex-husband Marc Anthony have finally finalized their divorce after splitting three years ago.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John Sandoz finalized the couple’s breakup Monday, awarding the former couple joint legal custody of their twin children.

One of the pioneers of rhythmic jazz style hard bop, Horace Silver, passed away on June 18 at age 85 in his house New Rochelle, N.Y. It was confirmed by his son, Gregory, that his father died of natural causes on Wednesday morning.

Silver, a native of Norwalk, Connecticut, was shaped by the Portuguese influence in the islands of Cape Verde, from where his family emigrated to the United States.

The jazz pianist, who was born on September 2, 1928, in Norwalk, began his career as a musician by working as a tenor saxophonist in clubs in his origin, Connecticut. In 1950s, he moved to New York and switched to piano, beginning to perform at Blue Note Jazz Club. Read more…

Lifetime has announced Monday, June 16, that Disney singer-actress Zendaya will portray late recording artist Aaliyah in a new made-for-TV biographical movie chronicling the life of the Grammy-nominated R&B idol who died in a plane crash at the age of 22 in 2001.

The biopic, which has a working title of “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B,” is based on the bestselling book “Aaliyah: More Than a Woman” written by ex-Time Magazine music editor Christopher Farley, according to Variety. It’ll tell the singer’s life and death, highlighting how she rose to fame following her debut on the television show “Star Search.”

According to Lifetime, the film “follows the beautiful and talented performer’s inspirational journey, from her debut on Star Search at the chronilogical age of 10 to the challenges she faced during her rise being the princess of R&B. On Aug. 25, 2001, at the height of her popularity, her life was tragically cut short when a plane carrying the singer and some of her video crew crashed after takeoff from a Bahamian runway.” Read more…

The L.A. City Attorney determined that there wasn’t enough evidence to charge the 20 year-old with a misdemeanour, regarding the a women who accused him of attempting to steal her cell phone.

Justin Bieber is going to be facing no charges after he allegedly tried to steal a women’s cell phone.

The Los Angeles city attorney decided Monday there is “a lack of evidence” to prosecute the singer for attempted robbery regarding the an argument with a woman at a miniature golf park recently.

Since then, the case was delivered to the City Attorney to determine if a misdemeanour charge might be handed to Bieber, but on Monday (June 16th) the decission was taken that there isn’t enough evidence to aid the accusations. Read more…

Casey Kasem, a radio voice who connected generations of Americans to thousands of rock and pop acts, died Sunday morning. He was 82.

Kerri Kasem, Casey’s daughter, announced the news on her Facebook page.

“Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends. Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “Thank you for all your love, support and prayers.
